Slavic folk music at its heart

Russian folk songs and dances still form the foundation of what we play. This is music that is centuries old, often passed down orally long before it found its way onto the strings of the balalaika. The melodies range from wistful romances to fast, sweeping dances – the ones audiences often recognise and sing along to.
